To ensure that the correct innovation projects were selected for trialling during RP6, a comprehensive 3 stage approach was used:
- The Transform Model identified the smart solutions most likely to be deployed on the distribution network in the future.
- EA Technology performed a review of GB innovation strategies and projects and recommended innovative techniques and approaches likely to deliver greatest value to customers and worthy of further investigation.
- Projects were selected which align with the specific investment needs of the distribution network in Northern Ireland.
