The following is a list of things you will need in order to successfully complete your application.
Note: You will be able to save your application and return to complete it when it suits you.

Receive an acknowledgement
If you submit your application online you will receive confirmation via email.
Once we review your application, you will receive a confirmation email with your job reference number. One of our advisors will then contact you if needs be to discuss your application.
Step 3
Quotation
We will provide you with a formal quotation within 15 days provided we have all relevant information (what you need before you start). Your quotation will be valid for 90 days, after which time the quote will expire and if we need to re-issue a quote the costs may increase.

Accept terms & payment

Legal consents
You may need to get permission from third party landowners or government bodies including the Department for Infrastructure before work can commence. If there is any variation, we may need to issue you with a requote including revised terms for your job.

Notify your supplier
You'll need to confirm details of disconnection with your supplier.
Step 7
On-site construction
Once we’ve received full payment (if applicable) and all legalities have been obtained we will contact you to agree a date to start your work. Please prepare your site according to the design agreed and ensure your electrician’s work is complete.

6-8 WEEKS
Safety message
The safety of the general public, employees and environment is our priority. Construction or demolition work carried out near the electricity network can put you at risk from injury and cause inconvenience to customers in surrounding areas.
You should exercise extreme caution when working in the vicinity of underground cables and overhead power lines by following the practical guidelines:
Site safety should be in accordance with HSE Guidance Note GS6 (Avoidance of Danger from Overhead Lines) and HSE Booklet HSG47 (Avoiding Danger from Underground Services) [links open in a new window].
Site layout plan
Please provide a plan at an appropriate scale (our preference is 1:500). Please show the outline of your house on the site and your meter position.
Compatible file types: - AutoCAD (.dwg format, version 2010 or later) - Adobe Acrobat (.pdf format) The maximum file size is 50 MB.
MPRN or Meter Serial Number for the site address
In order to process a disconnection, please provide either your:

Please provide an image of your current meter position.

Note: These prices are for guidance only. Depending on the complexity of your requirements, the cost of your connection may increase. Your full quotation will be based on the costs outlined in the Schedules listed in our Statement of Charges.
Working close to electricity equipment
If you are planning to work near or around overhead electricity lines please notify us by contacting our customer helpline on 03457 643 643 as soon as possible, before the work starts.
Turn my power off urgently
If you have an emergency to report, please contact our customer helpline immediately on 03457 643 643. If you see electricity lines that are down or causing significant risk to the public, please call 999.
Turn my power off temporarily
We can arrange to turn off your power for a short period to allow you to safely carry out work on your premises.
To obtain a quote for the work you, please complete an alteration application.

2 - 4 weeks
Disconnect electricity at one property*
Apply for a disconnection of an overhead or underground service cable to a single premises and to remove the meter.
4 weeks
* You need to have the Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN) for the meter that you want to be disconnected.
** You may be required to pay a builder to carry out additional work such as the excavation of a joint hole.
A business disconnection*
Apply for a disconnection of an overhead or underground service cable to a single commercial premises and to remove the meter.
