Before You Begin

This form should be used by Customers connecting or modifying any generating plant to the NIE Networks Distribution Network. Customers with generating plant are known as Generators in distribution network documentation and will be referred to as such in this form.

This form should not be used for Power Generating Modules with a rating of 16 A per phase or less (Micro-generation). Customers wishing to install Micro-generation should apply under the G98/NI connection process.

There are several key pieces of information that we need from you. Without them we will not be able to progress your application:

  • Your name, correspondence address, and payee details.
  • Site address (address where you want your connection).
  • Scaled site location plan clearly showing your site boundary and preferred (or existing) meter position.
  • A single line diagram (SLD) detailing any new or existing generation, protection relays (referencing G99/NI), metering position, any site load, and the point of supply.
  • For zero export or export limiting sites – we will require the SLD to show a G100 export limitation scheme.
  • Maximum input capacity (MIC) and maximum export capacity (MEC) at the site.
  • Total Installed Capacity (TIC) of all Power Generating Module(s) at the site.
  • Details of any Power Generating Module(s) to be connected to the Distribution Network in accordance with EREC G99/NI.
  • For an MIC greater than 138 kVA – Load details.

Please note that the three months licence standard will not begin until all necessary information has been supplied and the application fee has been paid.
