Meter Replacement Programme
NIE Networks maintains the meters at the properties of all customers across Northern Ireland no matter who your supplier is. As part of this service:
- We have an ongoing meter replacement programme.
- We replace all types of domestic and commercial meters after a prescribed period of time.
- Different types of meter are required to be changed at different intervals.
- The meters being installed are digital display meters that are approved to European Standards.
- It will take approximately 30 minutes to one hour to replace the meter and carry out all relevant safety checks, during which there will be a disruption of power to the property.
- NIE Networks can offer customers three-time bands for appointments, AM, PM or All day, Monday to Friday.
- To book an appointment please call 028 9575 7283.
- You will need to ensure the area around the meter is clear and there is good access. The meter installer will ask you to turn off all electrical appliances before switching off power to your home for approximately 20 minutes.
- When the work has been completed the installer will show you how to read/use the new meter.
Who is carrying out the work?
- NIE Networks staff will be carrying out this work. All meter installers have completed comprehensive training and are fully qualified electricians
- All employees of NIE Networks will carry identification, wear identifiable uniforms and drive marked vehicles.
