NIE Networks is proud to announce its recent corporate sponsorship of EVANI, a non-profit organisation that actively advocates the benefits of electric vehicles.
The Electric Vehicle Association Northern Ireland has championed the interests of electric vehicle users, highlighting the issues and opportunities for EV drivers and charge point operators.
The sponsorship will allow NIE Networks to support EVANI to promote the interests of EV drivers in Northern Ireland. It will also enable the company to engage with the membership as NIE Networks invest in the network, connect customers and deliver their innovation programme.
Randal Gilbert, Director of Network Assets at NIE Networks, welcomed the partnership: “We’ve just announced our business plan which involves an investment of £3 billion and the creation of 1,000 new jobs over the next 10 years. Part of this growth is related to a prediction of 300,000 electric vehicles on our roads by 2031 so it’s important that we work closely with EVANI to ensure we’re doing all we can to facilitate that growth and to lead the way to a net zero future for Northern Ireland.”
Mark McCall, Chair of EVANI, commented: “We are delighted to welcome NIE Networks as a member of the EV Association Northern Ireland. As a Distribution Network Operator, NIEN plays a vital role in ensuring that our electricity network is ready for the transition to electric vehicles. We look forward to working with them to promote the development and adoption of EVs, and to help create a cleaner, more sustainable future for transport."
