The Procurement Act 2023

Information for Suppliers

The Procurement Act 2023 comes into effect on 24th February 2025 and introduces several significant changes that will impact suppliers.

Here's a brief summary -

  • Central Digital Platform: A new central digital platform (CDP) will be launched to make it easier for suppliers to find and bid for contracts; ensure your business is registered on the new platform.
  • Simplified Bidding Processes: The Act aims to simplify and streamline the bidding process, making it easier for suppliers, especially small businesses and social enterprises, to bid for contracts.
  • Increased Transparency: There will be greater transparency in procurement processes, with contracting authorities required to provide consistent feedback and publish notices.
  • Performance Evaluation: Suppliers will be evaluated based on key performance indicators (KPIs), and their performance will be monitored.
  • Debarment List: A public debarment list will be introduced, preventing suppliers who have committed excludable offences from bidding for future work.
